Verizon Strikes Again

So, Verizon never fixed the last problem that I had with them.

They have been calling back ever since.

Today someone who is the liason between Verizon and the Board of Public Utilities called. He wanted to know if the problem was resolved.

I called back...no one home. Couldn't even leave a voicemail.

Called regular Verizon repair and told them, no...the problem wasn't repaired. They wanted to run me around to 15 more departments, but I refused.

That is another game they play...when they don't want to fix the problem, they have 10 different people call you back, asking for info...as if the 10 different people are working on your problem. When, in fact, no one is working on your problem.

So, the Verizon liason to the Board of Public Utilities calls back. And he starts playing all the games. I said that all the records were in the file, he did not have to solicit more information from me. As I started complaining, the volume on the call got lower and lower.

That is another game they play...they have been doing this one awhile...lower the volume on the calls when I make a complaint.

That started when I told them I was taping the phone calls for my records. I started taping them, because they refuse to provide documentation of the work they do!!!!!!!

How is that possibly legal???????

Then, and here is where it gets lovely...I call up Senator Lautenberg's office...and the phone goes dead!!!!!!!!!

And the internet as well!!!!

And that has happened 4 or 5 times through them!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will someone please put these frat boys behind bars????

Please!

overcharged me $140 on my very first bill.

90 minutes on the phone, they agreed to take the charge off.

Next month's bill comes...charge not taken off.

another 90 minutes on the phone...this time I got some kind of "voucher" number for the removed charges.

Personally, I don't think this stuff is an accident, I think they consciously overbill because a percentage of people won't catch it.

This is criminal behavior. It has got to go.

Verizon FIOS Blog

I have decided to blog all my interactions with setting up Verizon FIOS.

Got the thing installed on Friday, January 9th.

A few days later both the phone and internet went offline.

Called tech support.

They sent a tech out.

Tech said they just had to replace the box in the basement.

Note: Box was only one week old. If company that produced these boxes, produced that many
defective ones, they would go out of business.I could call up the company that makes them and
confirm, with their electrical engineering department that this is the case.

Comcast used to pull this nonsense also. They say they are "swapping out the boxes" or changing
some other piece of equipment that is perfectly fine.

What they are actually doing?

Who knows?

With Comcast, I finally figured out that the signal was not boosted enough. I guess they have
to spend an extra penny to do that. Once the signal was properly boosted, I never had any
problems again.

Also, disturbingly, twice after I lost the internet connection and I was on the phone with
tech support, the connection came right back on after the call.

I think they are just trying to pinch pennies...and don't want to spend the necessary
amount of "juice" to make this thing work.

They also refuse to provide documentation of the work done.

Lovely doing business in America.

Maybe Obama will start putting these kinds of folks in jail and restore some integrity to
American life.

I certainly hope so.

website listing extensive complaints against FIOS:

Just got it, already the problems are starting. And already their lies are starting.

When will companies ever do the right thing?

Here's one of their delaying tactics....switching out a piece of perfectly fine equipment and saying it is the problem.

Apparently the box in the basement that is one week old (that's right, one week old!) is the problem!

Nonsense...if you were to go to the manufacturer, they would confirm the percentage of boxes that come off the line that are defective. That kind of thing is maybe 1 in 500.

These companies just lie to you, trying to squeeze every last penny out of you, and to heck with you as a human being and your right not to be lied to...your right to be treated decently
