anyone else here having constant problems with Comcast TV and their signal?

I constantly get digital tiling. They have been out here 6 times, fixed everything under the sun, the problem still comes back.

I also seem to be in a bad area for the power grid...we get all kinds of power surges here. Maybe that is the problem.

Been to the NJPIRG site. They are working on a campaign to get more competition so that Comcast won't be a monopoly.

Who knows?

Greedy people just do what greedy people do.

Stop bitching and get the dish. Either that or call 'em up and demand they give you the same cost per service you'd get with the dish. Either that or just fucking serve their asses and drag 'em in your local county law division court.

I am sure that the dish has as many problems as cable....

I checked them out...the BBB already has them down with an unsatisfactory rating and the activists are going after them to change. But they have a monopoly and are abusing their power. Going after them in court is not so easy...unless you have your own personal team of 50 lawyers and a few million bucks to spend.

and, respectfully, please keep the "stop bitching" comments to a minimum...
I've fought to stop pollution in NJ, had to fight death threats in order to get that accomplished...I don't need anyone's advice on being "tough"
unfortunately, I am plenty. I say unfortunately, because there are more important things in life than being able to drive a nail through your hand without pain. That kind of stuff I can do from my martial arts training. But it still doesn't help me much...

Just has made me more of a schmuck...

Before when Comcast was Suburban Cablevision service was decent. Now there are nothing but
"war stories" in regard to Comcast & their services/practices. What I don't understand is how the
legislative bodies allowed it to happen here. In Florida there was choice, as a matter of fact Comcast
is the NEW player in town. Adelphia was recently purchased by Comcast Cable, but the following is a
list of cable providers in FL:

    Advanced Cable Communications
    CommuniComm Services
    Cox Communications
    Mediacom
    Time Warner Cable
    US Cable

I present this here for the reason of showing there is choice in other states and NJ residents should demand
the same choice and until such choice makes it'self available, I'll remain with the dish...

Is the dish that much better?

      more reliable?

I would switch to the dish in a second, except I thought, it would just be replacing one bad system with another.

I've found the dish to be less reliable then comcast cable. I've had issues with comcast's phone and internet, but the cable has been pretty much flawless.

I had comcast before and had a bunch of problems. I have Cablevision and it is slow to load, plus I dont have discovery HD to watch. That makes me very sad. I think its a problem with Cable overall. I don't like how they are such a monopoly, I feel like I am not getting the service I deserve..sorry for the rant without a solution, but it really gets to me.
    • Comcast Cable TV Strikes Again

      Hi Everyone.

Kind of agitated tonight. We had some workmen out to fix the cable TV.

There has been an ongoing problem with them for over two years.

The workmen, you know, are a bunch of frat boys....and always trying to get over on the customers, make fun of them behind their back, etc.

This time I caught one of them. He purposefully pulled the switch to the show at some kind of crucial moment in the plot.

I heard him laughing about it with his buddy.

I have heard some laughter in the background before. And, you know, I think that the reason that we have these continual problems with the company is because of a willful refusal to fix the problem. Whether it is that they don't want to spend any money, or whatever, I think they are playing all sorts of games with us.

Now, you have to understand, every couple of months we spend about 10 hours on the phone with them, trying to resolve the problems. We have now contacted the Board of Public Utilities... and things are starting to get more serious.

Now the threats of legal action start and it is a real mess.

I just am at a loss for what to do. It just seems that these people behave with a kind of impunity and will not stop annoying us unless literally put in jail.

But to go to such lengths over TV? At the same time, I already have enough problems and stresses...I don't know how much more I can take.

These people are like Lucy and Charlie Brown, forever promising to let the football sit and forever refusing to do so. I just want some peace. And all I get is a battle of wills.

      Well, thanks for listening,

      Jon
